We investigated whether the probiotic KS6I1 could lower cholesterol levels in mice fed a high-cholesterol diet. Over six weeks, mice were divided into groups: one received the probiotic, another a positive control, and a third a normal diet.

The results were promising; the KS6I1 group showed significant reductions in both LDL and total cholesterol levels. They also had increased cholesterol and bile acid excretion in their feces.

This suggests that KS6I1 has potential as an alternative approach to managing high cholesterol and its associated heart disease risks.

Fermented soymilk improves heart health
We investigated how soymilk fermented with Lactococcus acidophilus impacts heart disease risk factors. Our study used fifty rats divided into different groups receiving varying diets, including a control group and those consuming fermented soymilk.

The results showed that this fermented soymilk effectively regulated cholesterol levels and improved antioxidant activity in the rats on a high-fat diet. Notably, it reduced the risks linked to arteriosclerosis and coronary heart disease. Ultimately, we found that fermented soymilk can play a beneficial role in heart health.

Probiotics may protect heart health
We examined the potential benefits of several probiotic strains, including acidophilus, on heart health in a rat model of myocardial injury. Over 14 days, rats were given these probiotics before inducing heart damage.

The results showed that probiotics significantly reduced levels of oxidative stress and improved cardiac function. This suggests that probiotics could play a role in protecting against ischemic heart disease, offering a promising new preventive approach for those at risk.

Probiotic diet improves heart function
We examined how a diet enriched with Lactobacillus acidophilus, green tea extract, and carrots impacts heart health, especially during chemotherapy with doxorubicin. Over 22 weeks, five groups of male rats were monitored, with one group receiving the functional diet.

Results revealed that the probiotic diet significantly improved heart function and structure, reducing harmful effects and inflammation. It helped normalize heart rhythms and decreased several key markers linked to heart stress. While this study shows promise, further research is needed to fully understand its impact on heart disease.

Yogurt may reduce cholesterol levels
We explored the effect of consuming a daily serving of fermented milk, or yogurt, containing Lactobacillus acidophilus on cholesterol levels in two controlled studies. The first study found that this yogurt reduced serum cholesterol by 2.4%, and the second revealed a reduction of 3.2% in the initial phase.

Although not every treatment led to significant changes, overall analysis indicated a 2.9% decrease. This suggests that regularly enjoying this yogurt could lower the risk of heart disease by 6 to 10%.

Effective probiotic usage

Great! The price-quality ratio is excellent! I have suffered from gastrointestinal tract diseases for about 30 years. I take it in the morning on an empty stomach 30-60 minutes before meals or in the evening before bedtime, but not earlier than two hours after the last meal. This is how probiotics work best. We also use it to make delicious homemade yoghurt. A very effective probiotic.

I primarily use it for myself despite initially buying it for my husband, who encountered intestinal issues post-COVID vaccination. I took various Russian probiotics without success. After a couple of days on this, his bowel function improved significantly, and the bloating reduced considerably.

Synbiotics: modest heart benefits
We conducted a study to see if synbiotic supplements could help improve heart health in people dealing with overweight, diabetes, and coronary heart disease.

In our randomized, double-blind trial with 60 participants, some took synbiotics containing beneficial probiotics, while others received a placebo over 12 weeks.

Although we found that synbiotics reduced certain inflammatory markers and improved nitric oxide levels, they did not significantly change other oxidative stress markers or carotid intima-media thickness. Overall, the supplements showed some modest benefits in inflammation but not as much in heart structure.
